Red Hill Open Space Area
(Southern point is known as "Red Peak")

Red Hill -- 15 min

Red Hill is a community landmark. This distinctive natural formation overlooks the Truckee Meadows from the north, providing spectacular views of Reno and its vicinity. Unique rock outcroppings along with a variety of desert plants and wildlife add to Red Hill’s attraction as a site for outdoor recreation.

The Red Hill Open Space area is 438 acres. Future plans would include a non-motorized trail system, conservation and restoration areas, and other recreational uses based on public input and community resources.

This master planning effort was initiated by the National Park Service Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program.

Coming Events:
There will be a
two-day design workshop in October
It is hoped to have a final document to present to the public,
in early 2012.

The public is invited to submit comments through an online survey available at: www.washoecountyparks.com.
