Roger Edwards details the trials, tribulations and rewards of building a community compost pile. Roger describes the bureaucratic Red Tape, the mixing of the components and community organization needed for operation. This is “must see” viewing for anyone contemplating building a community compost pile. Perhaps any compost pile.

There are numerous compost pile images in the video of which the GVPOA compost pile may NOT resemble. They do however illustrate the wide variation in compost pile types.
One image may be an example of how not to do a compost pile.

Dedication of Compost Site
April 23, 2011

After years of fighting bureaucratic Red Tape, Roger Edwards and the GVPOA’s idea of a Community Compost Pile is now nearing completion. Without the aid of Commissioner Kitty Jung, this community project may not have ever been possible.
It will open to the community after construction of a fence.
