The Nevada Board of Homeopathic Medical Examiners held a public meeting in September 2007 and put their duties and obligations in front of their desire to maintain harmony among members of their own profession. They voted to rescind the license of one of their own Homeopathic practitioners as that doctor appeared to be allowing an unlicensed person to practice Homeopathy as a doctor in his business. A hearing date for the alleged infractions of law was set in October 2007. Into this action steps the Nevada Attorney General, relieves one of their own that had been advising the board for years and replaces that person with another who proceeds to investigate the actions of a board meant to protect the people from questionable medical practices instead of the doctor accused of participating in those practices. The A.G's office finds a technical infraction on the part of the board meeting, even though the Board was acting on the advice of that same A.G. office, whose deputy A.G.'s were present and vocal, and overturns the action of the Board to do their job as watchdog for the people. There has not been one utterance denying the charges of someone masquerading as a Homeopath M.D. since the inception of that discovery by the Nevada Homeopathic Medical Examiners Board, but countless taxpayers dollars have been spent to investigate the Board itself by the A.G., a prime example of one state agency investigating another. Once again we witness the law being trumped by "procedure" and the legal system overriding the Justice System. I suppose the actions of the A.G's office should come as no surprise in a state where gaming and prostitution is legal. If you do not believe this is happening to your Health Protections, attend the next properly noticed meeting, Friday October 26, 2007 at the Airport Plaza Hotel, 1981 Terminal Way, Reno, Nevada 89502 at 1:00 PM. The agenda can be found with the details and names of the players at the Washoe County Library on Center and Liberty streets, in Reno. Or contact the Nevada State Board of Homeopathic Medical Examiners or the Nevada Attorney General's office. MISSION of Attorney General (from their website) To serve Nevada by advising and defending its institutions, enforcing laws for the protection and benefit of its citizens, ensuring open government and empowering through education outreach. Sincerely, ###
